Hey there. I know you guys haven't heard from me in a minute. With the holidays fast approaching, this month has been pretty much a wash. I, for one, will be glad when Christmas gets here so I can finally experience the "Peace On Earth" so to speak. I look forward to time off from work, time with family and also time to make more comics!
This year I was a bit burnt out with the art scene. A few venues where I had some success at selling my work had dried up. While there is an influx of people coming into the city, I feel like the money isn't trickling down to the visual arts as much. Even the established artists have said that Charlotte is a difficult market to sell artwork. Working on "Tales From A Sketchy Artist" was a nice diversion and took me back to my roots when I made comic books as a kid.
I want to thank you for coming onto this site to read my little 'ol web comic. I've really enjoyed and appreciated your comments, shares, follows, and encouraging words. You'll see another post from me soon enough.
Have a happy and safe holiday and a prosperous new year!
This is based on a true story. No one was actually harmed but you can imagine that my friend is now wary of my incredible powers. He was playing with fire and he didn't even know it.
Well this pretty much summed up my weekend and my life. I spent all day Saturday trying on new clothes. Trying to keep up with a body that seems to change all the time is frustrating. On a happier note, I did find two pairs of jeans that fit (and not like a tourniquet) and discovered a new brand that I may revisit for future purchases. Whew, I needed this win!
I read somewhere that pet owners experience less sleep than those who don't have pets. I may as well have a baby!
By the way, my cat really does snore. I kid you not. I need to post an audio file on here sometime.
Unless you were living in a cave these past two weeks, and that might have been the safest place to be, parts of the globe were ripped a new one by two Category 5 hurricanes.
At first I wanted to post "Earthly Ills" around the time that Irma came through but decided against it. For starters, I was away from home in Michigan for both business and leisure so it was hard to do anyway without my home computer. Secondly, I felt especially sensitive to the victims who were already devastated by Harvey after it hit parts of Texas. It just didn't seem appropriate to post at the time, especially when people were and are still out there fighting for their lives.
Climate change is happening people and we are starting to pay a terrible price. What else has to happen on this earth in order for us to really do something about it? What proactive measures do we need to take besides screwing in a bunch of LED light bulbs?
My prayers go out to those who have been devastated by Harvey and Irma.
Ha ha! Get it?! Because nebulas are gassy and haaaaa! I am cracking myself up! :)
Sorry but I was inspired by the little star from my last post, "Solar Eclipse." Had to run with it.
Since I started this week with celestial humor, I might as well end it the same way.
