I spent time in Michigan with my family for Christmas and the state is no stranger to cold winters and gray days. When the sun manages to break free from the clouds, I want to run to the nearest window to catch its rays or go outside if the temperature is conducive enough (for me that's more like the spring). Let's face it, if the sun is out for an hour, it may as well be out for the entire day.
It's okay, state of my birth. I still love you anyways. Just not your winters.
Hey there. I know you guys haven't heard from me in a minute. With the holidays fast approaching, this month has been pretty much a wash. I, for one, will be glad when Christmas gets here so I can finally experience the "Peace On Earth" so to speak. I look forward to time off from work, time with family and also time to make more comics!
This year I was a bit burnt out with the art scene. A few venues where I had some success at selling my work had dried up. While there is an influx of people coming into the city, I feel like the money isn't trickling down to the visual arts as much. Even the established artists have said that Charlotte is a difficult market to sell artwork. Working on "Tales From A Sketchy Artist" was a nice diversion and took me back to my roots when I made comic books as a kid.
I want to thank you for coming onto this site to read my little 'ol web comic. I've really enjoyed and appreciated your comments, shares, follows, and encouraging words. You'll see another post from me soon enough.
Have a happy and safe holiday and a prosperous new year!
